Payment Information
South Koreans are the world's #1 users of credit cards. However, all prices quoted by Dr. Kim are for cash payments only. Payment by credit card incurs a 10% surcharge. Patients are encouraged to use cash to receive the best prices.
All surgery, treatment, service, and medical material costs are quoted in United States (U.S.) Dollars for international standardization. However, actual payment is always made in Korean Won (KRW).
Patients from countries that do not use U.S. Dollars may use their own major international currency (Euro, AUD, CAD, NZD, etc.). These can be converted into Korean Won at the bank located below the clinic in the same building. The exact amount of Korean Won required will vary slightly depending on daily exchange rates.
Travelers checks are the second-best payment option that still qualifies for the lowest pricing.
In Seoul, daily ATM withdrawal limits are typically around US$800 per day, which may not be sufficient for treatment unless you arrive 5–6 days early and withdraw daily. Bringing sufficient cash is strongly recommended.
Long-Distance Evaluation
Long-distance evaluations by email are free of charge.
All comments, recommendations, suggestions, and cost quotes are tentative and conditional. They depend entirely on the accuracy, completeness, and quality of photos, medical history, imaging, reports, and other information shared in advance.
Everything discussed remotely must be reconfirmed after an in-person, private consultation at Dr. Kim's Seoul office.
Package Pricing Structure
Price quotes are fixed-price, flat-fee packages that include:
- 1) Physician's surgical or technical fee
- 2) Medical materials cost
- 3) Nursing and aftercare costs
Package prices do NOT include optional services.
General Anesthesia (GA) is always an additional charge unless specifically stated otherwise in the official quote.
Total cost varies depending on:
- Type of medical materials and devices used (HGH, MegaDerm, HA, MegaFill, inflatable prosthesis, malleable prosthesis)
- Amount (volume) of material used
- Number of procedures performed
- Whether General Anesthesia (GA) is chosen
Pre-Operative Testing
Pre-operative testing for surgery is NOT included in quoted prices. The cost is US$200. Results require at least 24 hours.
Example: Consultation and testing on Monday allows surgery on Wednesday.
Standard testing includes:
- Blood tests for infectious diseases (HIV, HBV, HC)
- Urine analysis
- PT (Prothrombin Time)
- PTT (Partial Thromboplastin Time)
- EKG / ECG
- Chest X-ray (if required)
Communication Policy
Dr. Kim does not conduct consultations via Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp, Telegram, FaceTime, or other video/phone applications. All patient information must be securely archived in a single format and location.
Customized Treatment Planning
Dr. Kim works closely with patients to create customized solutions that match the available budget and treatment goals.
For a free long-distance evaluation, patients must provide:
- Basic medical history
- Clear anatomical photographs
- Medical reports and imaging scans
- Psychiatric evaluations (if applicable)
Patients should specify:
- The procedure(s) desired
- Type of filler or scaffold (if relevant)
- Amount of material requested
The surgeon will then determine suitability and provide an accurate cost estimate.
Note: Maximum amount of MegaFill safely used during one visit to South Korea is 70 ml.
